Paul Taylor  •  July 16th, 9:00am to 11:30am

PaulTaylorArchbishop Ussher’s mammoth work, The Annals of the World, is a highly controversial work today. Even creationists seem to delight in saying that there are areas of his chronology, with which they disagree. At our July meeting, Paul Taylor will present a biography of Ussher, and explain how he came to devise this important chronology. We’ll see how many other scholars, such as the scientist Isaac Newton, endorsed his work, and how he has even been praised by evolutionary atheists like Stephen J. Gould. Paul will apply his methods to a calculation of the biblical age of the Earth, and demonstrate that Ussher’s chronology is still sound, and still the best guide to biblical chronology that we have.

*Paul Taylor and his wife Geri have been the directors of the Mount St Helens Creation Center since October 1st, 2014.  Paul has been speaking on creation and apologetics, and against evolution, for over 35 years.  He taught science in UK government schools for nearly 20 years, has worked with Answers in Genesis and Creation Today, and has spoken in Britain, Ireland, Europe and across the US.  He has authored nine books, including The Six Days of Genesis, Where Birds Eat Horses, and Only Believe.
