The Total Solar Eclipse is coming to Design Science Association!  And with it comes Answers in Genesis’ own Dr. Danny Faulkner.

On Saturday, August 19th, Dr. Faulkner will be our speaker at our August monthly meeting.  His talk will include two parts:

  1. Biblical Cosmology  (9:00 am)
  2. What’s so special about this eclipse?  (10:15 am)

This will be a very exciting meeting, so be sure to attend!

On Sunday, August 20th, Dr. Faulkner will speak at two churches in the Portland area:

  1. Oregon City Evangelical Church: The Wonder of God’s Creation  (9:00 am & 10:45 am)
1024 Linn Ave.  Oregon City, OR 97045
  2. Rivercrest Community Church: What about Aliens and UFOs?  (5:00 pm)
    3201 NE 148th Ave.  Portland, OR 97230

Now hold on to your hats!  Here’s the best part:

On Monday, August 21st, Dr. Faulkner will be at a special DSA eclipse viewing event in the Warm Springs Reservation!

Here are the event details:

Cost: $50 a person (no group discounts)
Only way to get there: on a bus leaving Sandy.  The even happens on private property with limited space and there simply isn’t room for people to come in their own vehicles.
When we leave: early in the morning at 3:00 am (yes, that early!)  The Solar Eclipse is an international event with enormous amounts of tourism, and the traffic congestion will likely be unprecedented, even on otherwise lonely stretches of desert highway.  We’ve got to get a head-start!
Where we leave: Sandy Baptist Church, 34435 SE Jarl Rd. Boring, OR 97009
Bathrooms: There will be only one bathroom stop in Government Camp.  Once at the property in Warm Springs, there will be two porta potties.  For this reason, this event is not recommended for small children or others who would have difficulty with this.
Bring: Your own food and water.
Contact: Marianne Pike.  Cell: (503) 894-0841  Email:
